An artist never forgets his roots. My beginnings as a potter centered on functional wares. I still enjoy the peace and solitude of working the clay. For me, it is relaxation.

The variety of ceramic forms is infinite. My studio ceramics concentrate on my favorite forms, the teapot, the platter, the bowl, the mug, and the bottle. Each form has a different challenge and artistic appeal. Some are mostly aesthetic - like the bottle, and others - like the teapot, are a complicated balance of function and style. To be successful, the final piece must perform the desired function with grace and an aesthetic flare.
